Robots Replacing Man-Workers In China: Is India Next? Know The Effect On Employment

Robots Replacing Man-Workers Really? Let’s Figure Out

The Industrial revolution has passed as the most employable era of man-kind providing scope for almost everyone. In the current age of technological progress, we find robots attaining artificial intelligence (AI) to have the machines develop skills more efficient than any human can produce. Though these machines have been designed to aide humans, are they really doing humans any favors?

In China, we see their workforce largely being replaced by machines. A machine is a one-time investment, less likely to take sick leaves and demand holiday packages and give twice the efficiency of any manual worker. Hence, businesses and economies seek to attain the ‘fully automated’ status for their company. The upcoming superpowers China and India are the first to battle for the position of most technologically advanced.

There exists a debate as to whether this is, indeed, the best thing for the nation. Will there be a shortage of jobs open for the current youth in the future? There are two sides to this situation. On one side we see the growth of employment of technicians and people to build such machines and service them. There will also be a demand for those techies with AI knowledge. The downside to all this is that those who are skilled with providing manual labour will see a significant decrease in demand.

The solution for this lies solely with the Government. When the government can make a stronger economy with hi-tech devices, they must also provide an alternative for individuals who will be laid off because of their actions. The worst case scenario is that the government should at least prepare the youth for such a change by making them skilled and educated in the line of future opportunities. But, alas, we cannot blame our future on the government. It is advisable that the youth slowly follow the political trends and booming industries that have a promising future and opt for career options in that line. Every domain has a niche, so work hard and smart as good hard work never fails. Perhaps the youth can reach out to the media to push their case forth to the top officials by garnering public attention!
