If Gandhi Ji was on Instagram – Gandhi Jayanti Special

If Gandhi Ji was alive and if we were still under the relentless rule of the British, would events have been the same? Obviously not. Protests from a few decades ago greatly vary with the ones that take place in modern days. The main difference being that it is easier to start an uprising to bring together people against a common cause through social media. One post and thousands of minds are reached instantly. The news literally spreads like wildfire.

Had Gandhi Ji been protesting the British rule today, it may have been even more of a revolutionary outcome than it was in history. The main reason being that at least a billion Indians would have been involved in standing strong against the British. An Instagram account would have been sufficient for our nation’s Father. If Gandhi Ji had an Instagram account, what would he post?

I’m guessing that his stories will be filled with epic live streams from his Dandi March with quirky captions and snubs to the British empire. That would surely spread like wildfire. We may even get to hail his style mantra of Khaadi with fashion experts reposting his modest attire and revolutionizing all Khaadi clothing. I’m pretty sure that the occasional post would give us a glimpse of his personal life and the rare shot of his wife. Wouldn’t that have been a blessing?

Though none of this is plausible in the present situation and history has forever been written in stone, it brings to light the privilege that social media and the internet has given the current generation. We can now see what our heroes are doing. We don’t need to wait for another Gandhi Ji to fight for our injustice and share our views. Social media is indeed a blessing to aid in standing against injustice and record the doings of our heroes! Happy Gandhi Jayanthi. May you all find and unleash the Gandhi within you.
