Youth Wants to Know: Ab kis Baba ka number hain?

 

Of late, Babajis have become the butt of all jokes. With self claimed God-man Ram Rahim facing his ten year sentence, youngsters across the nation watch and wonder who is next? The trend of God-men like Rahim being accused of exploiting their devotees for illegal activities is far from new. Though we found hope in the spiritual rise in the east and west with Yoga becoming the focus of the world, many charlatan God-men seek this opportunity to manipulate the minds of the weak and desperate. It is quite hard to determine who the next quack-Baba, ready to disrupt the law, is. Though we all have our hopes and faith in different spiritual Gurus it is always better to be cautious. You never know! The unassuming Baba-cum-businessman-cum-political-critique may seem to have it all, but who knows when all the façade may be exposed!

 

Here are some warning signs that our youngsters must watch while seeking a spiritual guide.

 

  1. Does the Baba you seek expect something in return for his services to you? If so, it’s most likely just run like a business and not with the best interests of his devotees in heart.

  2. Does the Baba get uncomfortably close with women? This is a strict sign that requires you to run away from the man and must be reported if any lines are crossed.

  3. Are you asked to eat or drink something without having been told what it is? It is not uncommon for a horny fake-Baba to sedate his devotees and abuse them while knocked out! Beware!

  4. Do donations speak volumes more than the people who are in need? If the answer is yes, then this Baba does not deserve a penny of your hard earned money and time.

Of course, not everyone is a fraud and it is tiring to accuse people just because a few rotten ones exist. But one can never be too careful. Even if you are in pain and need spiritual solace, keep your senses alert. Your safety is most important!
